In the past, Thai people traveled mainly by waterways. They therefore trade through the floating market. However, at present, the water trade has begun to diminish. But there are still many places that preserve the Thai traditional culture and reflected through those beautiful floating market . For example Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, the largest and most popular floating market in Thailand, where you can board a boat to shop and witness the vibrant Thai waterfront community.
3. Buying fresh food or take the train at Maeklong Railway Market
Maeklong railway market or Dangerous market is a Thai traditional food market where you can buy fresh food, vegetables and fruits. The highlight of this railway market is its location right on the railway tracks. Vendors must swiftly move their goods and close their umbrellas when the train approaches. Some items are left on the ground as the train passes by. Once the train has gone, the vendors promptly return their goods to the tracks and resume business as usual.
